Referral to neuropsychology

This morning I had an outpatient appointment with the neurology department at Beaumont Hospital in north Dublin. This referral was made from the HIV clinic in the hospital about a year ago, and finally, it came through.

The particular reason for the referral was the ongoing episodes that I can have. They have already been investigated once when I was in the care of a consultant neurologist in Belfast, but now that I am on the waiting list for a kidney transplant, it was felt they should be investigated once again.

After a short consultation, I have been referred for both an MRI scan of my brain, and also neuropsychology to see if that can assist in the management of these episodes. I will post again when I know more.
