Minor miracle in the blood results

After changing medication due to suspected failure of the previous set of meds, and a Viral load of 3211 earlier in the month, today I got the result of the bloods taken on 17 August. The result was that the viral load was undetectable again. This was described by the consultant today as ‘miraculous’. So, we’re not quite sure what has happened.

The decision today is that we will continue on the ritonavir/darunavir/descovy regime for another month and ask for resistance levels on the bloods taken recently to see what the options are.

The junior doctor I saw was rather concerned at the Haemoglobin level, but the consultant said, “It’s quite low for most people, but for Michæl it is around what it has been for a few months – indeed it is better than it has been.” They did, however, request bloods to be taken to check the Haemoglobin today. It is checked on the dialysis machine each day that I am on but the actual blood test is much more accurate.

I am to return to the clinic at the end of September. At least it is not every two weeks.
