Blood pressure was very low on dialysis

Yesterday afternoon, as usual for a Friday afternoon, I was receiving my dialysis treatment in Port Laoise. I was about an hour later than I ought to have been in taking my blood pressure medication (200 mg Labetalol) so it was taken at 11.00 instead of 10 am. Every time I get my dialysis, we record my blood pressure when standing up before being connected to the machine. During the session, the dialysis machine measures and records the blood pressure at least at 20 minute intervals.

At the beginning, the BP was 181/119 which is rather high, but then it came down to 92/49 and then even further to 65/45. Previously, if I had such low BP, I felt as though I was overheating and needed to be put back with my feet in the air. On this occasion, I felt fine throughout. There were no symptoms that I noticed. I remained upright throughout.

I alerted one of the nurses to what was going on, and I have been told that she is reviewing BP, clearances, etc this weekend, and on Monday afternoon one of the renal consultants will be in the unit. So, hopefully, we will get to the bottom of what is going on.
