75% – who’d have thought that

It’s funny how percentages are important in my life.

For some time I have been trying to get my percentages up. Slowly, little by little I have regained ground from my initial high point. Today I got my latest result:

75% – major bounces.

Now, I should clarify, these are the percentages in my assignments in my law module as part of the LLB degree course with The Open University. It is not a huge change in my CD4 percentage. That too is going up, heading in the right direction. If anyone had told me when I first got my CD4 count at 100 that I would now be married, looking towards the future and approaching half way through a law degree I would have laughed in his face and said, “No, I’ll be dead.” How wrong could I have been.

Thanks to all my family, friends, doctors, nurses, and social workers who have supported me in turning my life around. I couldn’t have done it this far without you.
