High heart rate alert, high blood pressure today

This morning, I left home at about 9.45 am. This was so I could walk to the station and get the 10.16 train to Port Laoise, which arrived at the terminus at about 10.30. That gave me plenty of time to walk up to the dialysis unit, with a brief stop-off for some breakfast in my favourite restaurant/cafe on the way. I ate a sausage egg McMuffin and had a cup of tea. While there, I received an alert from my Apple watch.

This seemed particularly odd as I was sitting down, all I was doing at the time was ruling my notebook for recording details of the dialysis this afternoon.

I am pleased to say that the Resting Heart Rate this afternoon is 81 bpm. It’s not great, but it is better than the 110 this morning.

Records of BP, HR, ā–³BV, and HTR while on dialysis on 2023-10-16

The above table is copied from my notebook, with the figures current for when I am writing this post, c. half past four. I intend to add the rest of the figures at the end of dialysis – or this evening when I get home.

Unfortunately, the blood pressure values are, in the main, outside the recommended levels. of Sys <160 and DIa <100. I’m sure that we will have a further discussion with the consultant in due course about these high blood pressure levels. My current ā„ž for BP meds is

  • 200mg Labetalol (Trandate) mane
  • 100mg Labetalol (Trandate) nocte

Earlier, about midday, I spoke with my consultant and he seemed generally happy with progress even after the fistula failure, the central line insertion, and the great news that I am back on the Transplant List. He was certainly happy with the blood results (see table on Dialysis Blood results)
