In recent weeks, my blood pressure has been a cause for concern for both myself and my caregivers. At the start of my dialysis sessions, it consistently reads around 160/120. However, after about an hour into the treatment, it often drops significantly to around 90/70 or lower. Strangely, even when my blood pressure is quite low, I don’t experience feelings of lightheadedness or dizziness. At times, I have to wait until my systolic pressure rises above 100 before I’m allowed to leave dialysis.

Another issue arises because the B Braun dialysis machine won’t remove the necessary excess fluid if my blood pressure drops so dramatically during treatment, as it’s considered risky. Consequently, I’ve been finishing with a higher weight than anticipated.

I do hope that this issue can be sorted out soon.
