Yesterday, I went to a consultation with my GP. The main reason for going was to get a prescription for all my usual medications—at least the ones prescribed by the GP. Whilst there, he turned to me and asked,
Do you want a Covid booster? Have you had one recently?
Realising that it was quite some time since I had my previous Covid booster vaccine, I jumped at the chance. After all, living with kidney failure does rather put me at significant risk of getting Covid-19. Fortunately, thus far, I seem to have avoided it. Long may that continue.
So, I received the vaccine in my right arm. Being a kidney patient who has a fistula in my left arm means that all vaccines have to be given in my right arm. My fistula failed in September 2023, so it is not active, but I have kept to the original guidance until I am advised otherwise. Equally, I don’t use the left arm for measuring my blood pressure either.
