So, for the last few years, I have been using my second forename as my name in usage. Most people accepted that I was called John and if they knew my first forename was Michael, they just accepted that I was called John.

And then, we changed health insurer in Ireland. Making sure that my name was correct with them, we then made sure that the hospitals had my name as it is shewn on my passport.

As a result, I have reverted to being “Michæl” (albeit that is a personal choice of typographical style). Surely, I am allowed some form of fun with my own name?
