Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I receive dialysis in the Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore. As I have some other health issues, in addition to the kidney failure, I am in an isolation room for my treatment. This room overlooks the main entrance to the hospital.
Unfortunately, this is where many people gather to smoke. There is meant to be a smoking ban but it seems that it is never enforced.
It is a lovely day outside so the window was open to allow some cool air in. Of course it brings in the smell of smoke too. It really is disgusting that this happens. I really wish the HSE would put some resources into stopping the smoking outside hospitals.
