There is nothing so homely as coming home to the smell of freshly-baked goods. In the last few weeks Andrew has been baking and cooking more, so today it is my turn.
I knew we had flour, sugar, and butter at home, so I bought some eggs whilst in the city centre this afternoon. I came home, and got the Kenwood Chef out, with its metal bowl and K-beater. Then got the ingredients and the copy of All in the Cooking that we bought yesterday.
- 4oz sugar
- 4oz butter
- 5oz flour (self-raising)
- 2 eggs
- flavouring (Cocoa)

Transferred to a pre-heated oven, 160 degress Centigrade, and baked for half-an-hour. It is now resting in the tin before being turned out.
